Government publishes its response to the infamous PV consultation
The government today published its response to the now infamous PV consultation. In summary, it intends to do the following (subject to parliamentary approval):
1) Cut the tariffs to the proposed lower rates (with effect from 12 December 2011 or 3 March 2012, depending on whether it wins or loses its appeal).
2) Introduce a new requirement that the building to which the PV system is electrically connected has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of D or above.
3) Introduce new (even lower) tariffs for generators earning tariffs from more than 25 installations.
