Stage Three - We supply and install your renewable energy systems
There are a range of considerations on reaching the installation stage, from pre-planning and approval through to post-installation connection.
The first, and most important thing, we would like to point out though, is that Ownergy are members of REAL Assurance. This is the national certification scheme for renewable energy installers and all of our delivery partners are also members. Where MCS certification is required, such as for electricity schemes sub 50kW and heat schemes sub 45kW, we only use MCS certified installers. We will ensure ROO-FIT accreditation of larger schemes.

We have designed our installation service to give you both peace of mind and the highest levels of customer care.

Our delivery partners
We have a nationwide network of companies we use to carry out the installations. We call these companies our Delivery Partners.
Depending on the scope of your requirements, we may assign more than one Delivery Partner to you. This is because not every renewable energy installation company has the expertise across every type of system. In all instances, Ownergy will manage all sub-contractors on your behalf. That is one of the benefits of working with Ownergy.
Pre-installation
Prior approvals
A few types of renewable energy need prior approval, such as for grid connection, planning consent or water abstraction. If this is required, Ownergy will work through our Delivery Partners to assist with all of this. Unfortunately, you will have to be involved with some of these things, although fortunately most renewable systems have 'permitted development' status so don't need planning permission and smaller electrical installations can be notified after installation.
Preparatory works
Our delivery partner will sequence and coordinate the works. He will agree with you the best place to unload and store the equipment, where any scaffolding will be erected, and the extent of any builder’s work that may be required. If the works form part of a larger refurbishment project that you already have ongoing, our delivery partner will liaise with your builder and comply with any site rules that are in force.
The Installation
Most renewables installations are completed in just a few days although it does depend on the scale of the project as to how long it will take. Either way, we will give you a clear indication of how long we anticipate it taking and, weather permitting, our Delivery Partner will seek to work within this timeframe.
We will, of course, do our utmost to minimise disruption. However, do be aware that your hot water or power may need to be switched off for a short time.
Safety
We go to considerable lengths to make sure that our delivery partners employ only properly trained installers and we ensure that safe working practices are employed at all times. Our teams will make sure that the works are left in a safe condition as they proceed. If at any time you have concerns, we will react swiftly to address such issues.
Post-installation
Finally, your systems will be tested, connected and turned on.
Our Delivery Partner will issue copies of test certificates, operating manuals and maintenance instructions. Our Delivery Partner will not handover the system until you have been shown how to operate the it and how to get the best performance from it.
